고 김금현 권사님 약력 KEUM HYUN KIM Vital Statistics Information

Born on 3/15/1936.

Born in Pyungyang, Korea.  Father:  Cho, Ki Yong.  Mother:  Jung, Je Bok.

Lived in Seoul since settling there during the Korean War in 1950.

Graduate of Sungshin Women’s University.

Married to Byung Jae Kim in 1958.

Immigrated to the US (Los Angeles) in 1972.

Owned and operated a sandwich shop in downtown LA for almost 20 years,

  leaving her home in San Fernando Valley at 5 AM until 6 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Retired to the Bay Area around 1988.

Member of Oakland Korean United Methodist Church for more than 25 years,

  serving on the Choir for the last 10 years.

Elder of the church in 2005.

Died peacefully in her sleep on 8/23/2020.

Second oldest of 5 siblings.  One sister in Canada and a sister and a brother in South Korea. 

  Unfortunately, none could be here due to COVID.

Children:  Henry, Keith, and Hahn.

Grand Children:  Amanda, Spencer, Alyssa, Ashley, Miles, Sabrina and Isabella.

Character hallmarks:  Positive and hard-working, always pleasant and smiling but never complaining. 

Giving and sacrificing, always putting the welfare of her children and grandchildren before her own.  Humble and practical, never showy or wasteful.
